Your fire protection system will require regularly scheduled intervals for testing,maintenance, inspection and sometimes certifications. Maintenance of the fire sprinkler system will consist of testing, inspecting, repairing and fixing any components of the fire protection system that do not function properly. The National Fire Protection Association has created a standard for maintenance of the residential fire sprinkler system referred to as NFPA 13D. The scope reads, “1.1* Scope. 1.1.1 This standard shall cover the design, installation, and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems for protection against the fire hazards in one- and two-family dwellings and manufactured homes. 1.1.2 This standard assumes that the sprinkler system is designed to protect against a fire originating from a single ignition location.” (Reference)
